Most moms and dads do care about their little one’s diet. We want our kids to be healthy, happy and loving their delicious healthy foods. I personally think that it is very easy to have your child love healthy foods, since I now have to go through this daily and personally. Some mommies and daddies do have to employ some tricks every now and then, to get healthy yummies in their little ones’ tummies, but over a span of time, it is a doable task to help your children learn to love foods which are good for them and prepare them for a life of health.
I am starting a new category on Vegalicious–SPROUT LOVES, which is going to be about delicious, healthy vegan foods that my baby girl loves and cannot get enough of. Her food repertoire already ranges from green smoothies, fruit, veggies, to grains, and even beans, but every day we try something new. Today I will kick off this category with a recipe we whipped up yesterday, which not only kiddos, but even their parents will enjoy (Hubby finished off Sprout’s treat yesterday ). I highly recommend using only organic ingredients for your baby’s food.
Creamy Carrot Dessert | Sugar Free Raw Vegan Treat for Children
yields about 24 oz.
Ingredients
- 1 cup of either filtered water, coconut water or homemade almond milk
- 2 ripe bananas
- 1/2 ripe mango
- 1 large carrot
Preparation
- Chop all ingredients and place into a high speed blender (such as Vitamix 5200) with the liquid
- Blend until smooth
- You will not need any sweeteners if your ingredients are ripe. If you do, use dates.
- I highly recommend using it within 2 days to get maximum nutrition. If you do not think you can finish it, freeze for later enjoyment.
Sprout LOVED her dessert. I could not get the spoon to her mouth fast enough, so she took over.
Sprout says “Enjoy!”
